The Free Harvest Project is an initiative born out of the need to feed the hungry, in a creative, community-driven way.
The basic idea is brought to fruition through community willingness and volunteer hours. Utilising open spaces, often deemed too small for crop yielding gardens, such as pavements and sidewalks, this project hopes to grow fresh produce in any and all quantities.
Anybody adopting the responsibility of starting and maintaining a community food garden does so as a way of ploughing back into the community and helping the many impoverished people out there to have a little something each day.
We designed the logo to act primarily as signage, a way to identify the brand as well as each garden.
As community involvement is key, we designed detailed Vegetable Growing Guides to help just about anybody establish and maintain a Free Harvest Garden.
Nifty fresh produce stickers were created to identify where the food came from and to help spread the word about the project. Lookout for a Free Harvest Community Garden near you ... or better yet, get those gloves on and start one yourself!
